Nobody is forced to live in America

Published by haggerty89 at 9:37 pm under Politics Edit This

The United States is the greatest nation on earth. We grant freedoms and opportunities that most countries just do not allow their citizens to have. In America, with hard work, anyone can achieve their dreams. People around the world realize how wonderful it is to be in America and this is why it is estimated that since 1986, 8,000 illegals enter the country everyday. While this activity is illegal and should not be permitted it is still a sign of just how great we are. On top of that, most people do not realize that the United States has the most generous immigration policy in the world, accepting over 800,000 foreigners a year, more than any other country.

My point is there are hundreds of thousands of people that are willing to risk their lives to get into this country. If you do not like America than get out. Nobody is forced to live here. If you hate this country, than why are you even here?

I decided that this was a valid issue to discuss because of the recent event where Vietnamese immigrant Jiverly Wong killed 13 people in an immigration center in New York. The center provides citizenship classes including classes that teach the English language. Before the shooting he had been heard saying, “I don’t like America. America sucks.” In his delerious and violent act he entered the American Civic Associationwith two handguns, killed 13 people and seriously injured four. He had also taken classes at the center and allegedly was struggling with his English. It is not certain what exactly was going on in his mind but his struggles with English is likely linked to his hatred for America which is possibly why he targeted that particular building. Now thirteen innocent people that truly wanted to be here are dead. Clearly this man had psychological problems but if he truly had done the rational thing and left the country, thirteen families would not be dealing with losses right now.

There are so many other situations that make me wonder why some people just don’t pack their bags and leave. The other day one young man said in my class, “What’s wrong with communism? Who really proved that it was bad?” Well, I encourage this person to move to Cuba. I think he will like it there. America, however, will always be a democracy and the greatest place on earth and if you do not believe that, you are not being forced to stay.

Yeah, communism didn’t work for Cuba and the USSR, but in the words of my good friend Bobby Jindal, “This is America, and Americans can do anything.”

Americans are going to be really sorry if the United States ever becomes a communist nation. At that point not even Batman will be able to save us because he does NOT exist and is a fantasy character for young boys and losers who still live at home with mom and can’t wake up to the realities of the world.

I agree! The United States is a democracy and we should do everything we can to protect that. Unfortunately, the world gets very mixed messages about this country. For example, the official language. Doesn’t seem that we really have one as most things have gone bi-lingual with Spanish and English and even sometimes French since NAFTA. In Colorado we seem to accept Spanish as an alternate language and English speakers get nasty looks and attitude about it even. No wonder some immigrant freaked out about it. Seems that just 2 generations ago immigrants had the attitude that they were “americans and would speak English”, now it seems like the opposite.
